Sensei Cassandra "Cat" German is a Certified Personal Trainer, First Degree Black Belt Belt (Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu & Chin Na), Certified Female Self Defense & Rape Prevention Instructor under Modern Warrior, Certified Kubotan (Key Chain Defense) Instructor (in progress), who is also CPR-AED Certified, First Aide Certified.
She has worked with a wide variety of clients ranging from youth to senior as both a personal trainer & martial arts instructor. By helping her clients improve their strength, endurance, muscle size, balance, flexibility, learn life saving self defense techniques, etc. she is satisfied knowing she has helped make a positive change in someone else’s life.
Believe it or not, Cat picked up her first dumbbell at the tender age of two years old & never put it down. Being an athlete her whole life, playing many sports such as softball, soccer, track, martial arts (Kung Fu, Judo, Jujitsu, Chin Na), bodybuilding, and basketball, Cat's athletic potential never went unrecognized. In 2007 she decided to challenge herself to get into the best shape of her life and entered herself into her first natural figure & bodybuilding competition with the INBF- International Natural Body Building & Fitness and placed 2nd. Shortly after that, she decided it was time for her to face her destiny and pursue a career in the fitness industry.

Sifu Marvin German is the Master Instructor at FSA Martial Arts Health & Fitness Center (https://www.FSAMartialArts.com) in Baldwin New York. He is a Master in Bo Fung Do Kung Fu, a 4th degree Black Belt in Kiat Kung Fu and Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu. He is also the United States Judo Association's New York State Director and Senior Rank Examiner of Jujitsu . Sifu German holds a 1st Degree Black Belt in Judo, and is a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor and trainer under Modern Warrior.
Master German has trained many individuals from the Military and Law Enforcement and has helped them to defeat highly skilled violent attackers. His passion for improving physical fitness, mental discipline, and spiritual strength is apparent in every class he teaches. Since the age of 6 when he was enrolled in Kung Fu at the Bronx community center, he knew he would one day share his 40 + years of knowledge with the children and citizens of the NY community. Besides his impressive array of Martial Arts expertise (which also includes Tai Chi and Qi Gong) Sifu German is also a master of sorts in the fitness industry.
Master German was the former fitness director of SPORTIME HEALTH CLUB and has been the Assistant Coach/Head Trainer for the New York Athletic Club Lacrosse Team for the past 21 years. Master German holds several certifications in physical fitness and performance training and has also been privately mentored by Juan Carlos Santana.
After a two year internship at Hofstra University in the field of Sports Medicine, Master German utilizes his experiences and expertise to develop athletic programs to help injured athletes return to their sport quicker and in some cases stronger than before.
Master German has also been featured in several news and television programs both as a martial artist and a fitness expert.

Victim rates of violent crimes have increased. Without warning, a situation can turn from safe to sorry; turning you not only into a victim, but the top news story of the day.
And, most people who are victimized never imagined that crime would happen to them.It always happens to the other person.

Women's self defense could potentially save your loved ones lives. In approximately 80% of attempted rape cases, girls with any self-defense training avoided sexual contact. This is a clear indicator that women in our area need to know at least some basic self defense techniques.
One of the number one reasons that many women are victims of an attack is because they do not know how to react properly to the threat. Learning proper self defense begins with knowledge. You need to know how to prevent an attack by being aware of your surroundings, and not putting yourself into a situation that can be potentially dangerous. It is also very important to learn more about the type of person you are, what type of demeanor you have, and how you react to frightening situations. You need to be aware of this so you can be prepared to formulate a strategy of how to best handle the situation if it arises. If you run, can you get away or find help? Maybe you don't have time? What you say and how you present yourself in a confrontation can make the difference of being left alone or being seriously injured. Your last option in the case of physical contact should be hand to hand combat techniques.

A Short Class Outline
Overview: Mindset, awareness, strategy. Who we are and what we do at Cat's BodyWorks.
The Law: What your rights are under the law and what you are permitted to do to defend yourself, including demonstrations regarding types of force.
Short DVD/Discussion: Contains a few real life scenarios. Discussion includes what each woman did and other options they had for self defense and rape prevention.
Unorthodox “Buying Time” techniques: Hit, scream, run away theory is discussed. We go over where to hit, what to yell, when to run (“Run away when you can walk away!”).
Formula for Self Defense: Vision, Wind, Limbs! Fights are won by the cumulative effect of multiple strikes to vital target areas.
Techniques: Grabs, elbow blocks, head strikes.
Defense: Blocking various punches and strikes.
Offense: Hitting to vital target areas of the body.
Kicks, Throws, Ground Techniques: Various kicks, what makes a throw work and options for when you are pinned to the ground or on a bed, etc.
Unorthodox Weapons: Everyday items in your home and work environments (or anywhere!) that you can use as self defense tools.
Court Testimony audio (time permitting): A short and powerful, tremendously moving audio clip of a woman who fought off an attacker who entered her home in the middle of the night.
Closing Comments: Verbal & written testimonial. Further your training with Cat's BodyWorks Self Defense with our 4 & 8 Week (1 day a week) Female Self Defense program. Flyer packets regarding upcoming courses and helpful tips for female self defense are discussed.
Family & friends of employees are welcome as well, at the company’s discretion, however, the youngest age permitted to attend is 12 and they must be accompanied by an adult.
For the DVD presentation, we need the use of a screen/television, if possible. If not, we are able to bring a portable DVD player.
The amount of space needed should be large enough for us to be able to demonstrate techniques safely and for the attendees to be able to see easily. Plus, we supply our own folding gym mats for safety!
